Here is what we're trying to accomplish by the end of the school year:

Use the following guideline to assist in your planning. Approximately 12 days are given per chapter.  We may take more time in some areas and less time in others depending on a variety of factors.

Tema 1A    13 days                     Vocabulary:  Saying what you like and don’t like to do
                                                        Grammar:  infinitives and making negative statements
Tema 1B    13 days                     Vocabulary:  adjectives and personality questions
                                                        Grammar:  adjectives, definite and indefinite articles, and
                                                        word order
Tema 2A    13 days                     Vocabulary:  Classroom items and prepositions of  location
                                                        Grammar:  Subject pronouns and the present –ar verb tense
Tema 2B    13 days                     Vocabulary:  Classroom items, furniture, classroom parts
                                                        Grammar:  the verb estar;  noun and article plurals
Tema 3A    13 days                     Vocabulary:  foods, beverages, adverbs of frequency, and
                                                        expressions to show surprise
                                                        Grammar:  present tense of –er and – ir verbs; me gusta(n),
                                                        and me encanta(n)
Tema 3B    13 days                     Vocabulary:  Food, beverages, health expressions,
                                                        Preferences agreement / disagreement, quantity, adjectives
                                                        to describe
                                                        Grammar:  the plural of adjectives, the verb ser
1st Sem. Final  By Jan. 28         Writing and Speaking Spanish

Tema 4A    13 days                     Vocabulary:  leisure activities, places, expressions to tell
                                                        where and with whom you go, expressions to talk about
                                                        when things are done
                                                        Grammar:  the verb ir, interrogative words
Tema 4B    13 days                    Vocabulary:  leisure activities, feelings, expressions for
                                                        extending/accepting/declining invitations, expressions to
                                                        tell when something happens
                                                        Grammar: ir + a + infinitive, the verb jugar
Tema 5A    13 days                     Vocabulary:  family, parties
                                                        Grammar:  the verb tener, possessive adjectives

Tema 5B    13 days                     Vocabulary:  describing people, ordering a meal
                                                        Grammar:  the verb venir, the verb ser and estar

Tema 6A    13 days                     Vocabulary:  bedroom items, electronic equipment,

                                                        Grammar:  affirmative tú commands, present progressive
                                                        tense
Tema 7A    12 days                     Vocabulary:  clothing, shopping, numbers 200 - 1,000
                                                     Grammar:  stem-changing verbs; pensar, querer, preferir;
                                                     DO NOT DO demonstrative adjectives
