Yup, that's me. Jeff Sandberg, Jr., a local musician, has been performing since the third grade, first as a vocalist, and later as an instrumental musician, sharing the stage with some internationally known performers, including Marvin Stamm, Mike Vax, Gordon Foote, Tim Armacost, Tom Peterson, Joe LaBarbera, Bruce Paulson, Ira Nepus, Ed Shaughnessy, and many others. Jeff is a graduate of Central Washington University (CWU), with a degree in Music Education and the saxophone. He has studied with Tom Gause, Tom Peterson, and Joseph Brooks on the saxophone in both jazz and classical genres. As a member of several extra-curricular groups, has been apart of several CD projects with James Dunning, Simple Truth, and RISK (a collegiate music ministry), along with school groups from CWU. A discography follows below. As an educator, Jeff has been a private instructor on saxophone, guitar, trumpet, trombone and percussion. He also acted as middle school choir director for the Ellensburg Christian School in Ellensburg, WA for three years. In Wenatchee, Jeff spent two years as a substitute teacher before having the opportunity to act as interim band director in place of the elder Sandberg, as he is currently recovering from a stroke in June of '06. Jeff is in demand as a clinician, performer, and educator. You can see him acting as the middle/junior high school Clarinet and Saxophone judge at this year's NCW Solo & Ensemble Contest in January/February 2007. Jeff plays on Selmer Horns, Selmer and Vandoren reeds and mouthpieces, and Rovner Ligatures.
