STUDENTS:

  1. This morning is our winter music concert.  You will be dismissed with an intercom announcement.  Please remember the audience expectations.
  1. Cashmere Valley Bank is sponsoring Wenatchee's 4th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay Contest, which is open to all 6th - 12th grade students in the valley.  The purpose of the essay is to encourage students to think critically about Dr. King's legacy of peace and justice.  If you are a RIGOROUS writer, see the contest details on the Falcon Flyer board in the Commons.  The contest is open to everyone.
  1. 8th graders – write yourself a note to go through your baby pictures over winter break.  If you would like your baby picture in this yearŐs yearbook please submit it to the office by January 11th. Please make sure your name is on the back of the picture.
  1. 7th & 8th grade girls basketball players – basketball starts the first day back from winter break.  Practice will be from 3:00 to 5:00.  6th grade girls basketball players – basketball also starts for you the first day back from winter break.  Plan on attending a meeting after school in the commons until 3:30.  Your forms need to be turned into the office by this Friday.
  1. Please dismiss the 7th & 8th grade A & B basketball team at 1:30 today.
  1. Students are invited to come to the library, after they have finished lunch, to make holiday crafts.  Today's theme is "Christmas in Mexico" and there is no charge to attend. Come have fun with PTSA and remember that tomorrow will be the last day of the holiday craft sessions.
  1. Students who are participating in Art Club, after school today and tomorrow, should report to Mrs. Lancaster's room as soon as possible after iperiod. Remember to bring your parent permission ticket.
  1. Once again, thanks to all of you who contributed to the FalconFlyer Food drive, as you can see from the hundreds of food items on the stage, the "Festival of Canned Trees" was a great success!  If all first period classrooms could deliver their collection boxes to the stage, whether they are full or empty, they will be used for delivering the food to the Women's Resource Center this afternoon after school.  Students who are willing and able to help load the food for delivery should meet at the stage immediately after school today. Also, if there were any friendly "classroom food drive competitions"  that you'd like us to know about, please have your teacher email your results to Mrs. Mowat and we will annouce your classrooms' efforts this week!
  1. Thanks to all of you who supported the Pet Food drive.  It has been a great success and the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society appreciates all your support! Final collection for the pet food drive is today, Wednesday, Dec. 12th, too!  Woooooffffff!
