Moral Courage:  Choosing What's Right

"Virtue is its own reward."

--John Dryden

STUDENTS:

  1. Attention all SADD Club Students.  The first meeting will be today during both lunches in the library.  Bring your sack or hot lunch and great ideas to the library next Monday.  Remember, you must have a signed Parent Permission Slip and your ASB fee paid to participate.  See you then!
  1. Snowboarders and skiers will be headed to the Ridge very soon.  Get stoked by attending the Brown Bag Lunch tomorrow in the Library to learn about the Mission Ridge Teacher's Assistants Program.  The Ridge is offering 52 hours of training to teach job skills needed to become a snow sport professional. See the red flyer on the Falcon Flyer board in the Commons.   All students are invited to attend.
  1. Return, Renew or Review your Overdue book, if you receive a slip in 1st Period today.  It is the end of the quarter and this is a great time to make sure your Library account is in good order.
  1. Falcon Flyers and other eager writers: Ms. Mowat has 27 letters from students in Hamburg, Germany.  One of her friends teaches English to 12-14 year olds.  They are studying Washington State and would like to receive letters back from students here at Foothills.  Please see Ms. Mowat in the Library, if you would like to write a friendly letter to one of the students.  Ms. Mowat would like to mail the letters before Thanksgiving break and she will cover the postage.
  1. Congratulation's to Mrs. Hink's 7th grade core class for winning the Box Tops for Books classroom challenge!  The students turned in 155 coupons to beat out Mr. Birk's class, which collected 102 Box Tops. Thank you, parents and teachers, for helping our kids to earn $53.50 from General Mills! This really is a Parent, Teacher, Student activity and the money earned will go toward PTSA book purchases for the school.  The next turn in date is February 22nd.  Our goal for the year is $500, so please keep clipping!
  1. Students who are interested in attending Art Club next week Wednesday the 14th and Thursday the 15th, should pick up a parent permission ticket from Mrs. Lancaster in Room 107. Art Club will meet from 2:50-4 and the lesson will be on photography. If for some reason, you can only attend one of the two days, that is ok; you may still sign up.
