Moral Courage: Choosing What's Right
"Virtue is its own
reward."
--John Dryden
STUDENTS:
- Falcon Flyers
and other eager writers: Ms. Mowat has 27 letters from students in
Hamburg, Germany. One of her
friends teaches English to 12-14 year olds. They are studying Washington State and would like to
receive letters back from students here at Foothills. Please see Ms. Mowat in the
Library, if you would like to write a friendly letter to one of the
students. Ms. Mowat would
like to mail the letters before Thanksgiving break and she will cover the
postage.
- Students
who are interested in attending Art Club next week, Wednesday the 14th and
Thursday the 15th, should pick up a parent permission ticket from Mrs.
Lancaster in Room 107. Art Club will meet from 2:50-4 and the lesson will
be on photography. If for some reason you can only attend one of the two
days, that is ok; you may still sign up.
- Falcon
Flyers and anyone else, who took a disposable camera to photograph your
food resources for a community service project, please return the cameras
today. Drop them in the gold
box in the Library. You are responsible for returning the cameras
you took. The film will be processed by the end of this week.
Thank-you to all who have already returned the cameras!
- It's Red
Ribbon Week! This is a
national drug awareness event which allows students to pledge not to use
drugs and alcohol. See Ms.
Thaut in the cafeteria during both lunches tomorrow and make your pledge
not to use drugs and alcohol! With each pledge you will receive a red ribbon to wear, a lollypop
and a pencil.
- Please excuse
6th grade Orchestra students tomorrow, November 8th,
at 9:20, for a performance during break.
- Please excuse
Mariachi students at 9:20 on Friday, November 9th, for a
performance during break.
- Hey, students,
itŐs that time of year again! Do you like art? Or
love to write? Do you think
you have some acting abilities? If so, then plan to attend an informative Brown Bag Lunch tomorrow
for the kick-off of the Reflections Art and Literature contest; sponsored
by the PTSA! Bring your lunch
to the library and learn about his yearŐs theme and the six different
categories that you can select from: Visual Arts, Photography, Literature,
Video making, Music and Dance.
FMS É a respectful,
responsible, and supportive learning community
committed to rigorous
and relevant learning for all.
