Dear parents:
Because the physical education department at Foothills seeks to provide a consistent, effective, and comprehensive physical education program for your children, the following expectations have been developed.

1. Students will dress in appropriate P.E. clothes each day. Appropriate clothes are P.E. shorts, athletic supporter (boys), tee shirt, athletic socks, and athletic shoes (no mark type). Shoes that leave black marks
on the gym floor are not allowed. Vans or unlaced shoes are not appro-
priate for P.E. Sweat shirts and sweat pants may be worn by students.
Physical education clothes can not be the same clothes worn in the academic classroom. NOTE: If you mark your student's name on his/her
P.E. clothes, those clothes are more easily identified if left out.

2. Students will participate daily in exercises, conditioning, drills,
activities, or games. The only exception will be a student who brings a note from home, or, for extended problems of more than three days, a note from the family doctor. A WRITTEN NOTE IS REQUIRED FOR EXCLUSION. **THESE EXCUSED NON-PARTICIPATIONS NEED TO BE MADE UP!!! An alternative assignment will be provided for that student.
3. Students will wipe down with a TOWEL at the end of each P.E. period.

4. Make Your Day is used in all PE classes so approppriate citizenship is expected. School district discipline procedures will be followed.

5. Students are responsible to clean up after themselves.

6. Students will be on time and in regular attendance. Attendance, tardi- ness, non-suits, attitude, cooperation, and participation affect grades.

7. Students will bring fresh clean P.E. clothes each week, and take P.E. clothing home for washing at the end of each school week.

8. Radios, cell phones and iPod/mp3 players are not allowed in class.

9. Gum, food, and beverages are not allowed in the locker rooms or at any
teaching station.
