I am pleased to be working with your student this school year. As you may already know, your student has qualified for a Learning Assistance Program, (LAP). LAP provides an opportunity for each child to work on skills that will help him/her find success as a reader. This is a great opportunity for students to work in a smaller group setting.
Materials: The class will be using a variety of reading materials throughout the year such as: Leveled Reading Advantage Magazines, Chapter Books, and Junior Scholastic.
Classroom Supplies: Students will need the following: pencils, lined paper, and pens.
Grades: Grades will be updated weekly on the Internet.

Attached is a compact that all students and guardians must sign. It lists the expectations of students, parents/guardians, teachers, and the principal. Please read and sign it and have your student return it to school.
